Can anyone take long leave for study during probation period as Bank PO?
I am working in PNB Bangalore branch. I have joined as Probationary Officer through IBPS selection process.
Currently I am in probation period & I want to complete my post graduation full time.
Is it possible to take long leave during this probation period and complete PG. As this is the valid/genuine reason, will my bank allow me for this?
The policy regarding taking long leave for study during the probation period may vary depending on the specific bank or organization. However, generally, it is not recommended to take long leave for study during the probation period as it may affect the employee’s job performance and may negatively impact their chances of being confirmed as a permanent employee.
Probation period is a critical period for an employee as they are still learning the job, company policies, and work culture. Any prolonged absence from work during this period may slow down their learning process, and their absence may impact the team’s productivity.
In case you have a genuine requirement to take long leave for study during the probation period, it is recommended to have a conversation with your supervisor and the HR department to discuss your options and come up with a suitable plan that will not impact your job performance and the team’s productivity.
